Mei-Ching was
born and grew up in Hamasen of Kaohsiung Taiwan. Hamasen, now called Gu-San,
is one of the oldest areas in the city. Its glorious past is

This 1954 congratulatory shingle was presented to Mei's fatherfor his
company,
Yi-Dong Co. The business was originally established under another name in
1940s.
Today, this thick & heavy 5'x3' hardwood shingle is hung in Mei's old home in
Kaohsiung.

busy Kaohsiung Harbor. It is more like San Diego than Kaohsiung, isn't it?
Mei &
Vincent stayed in that lighted 45-story hotel Hi-Lai 漢來大飯店
during
their 2002-2003
trip to Kaohsiung. Vincent also had a small new year's eve college
class reunion on the top floor restaurant. |
