Day11, to Cologne (7/6/2025)
The "red Eurostar" trains are red in color outside, ...
... and also red in color inside.
Our train had plenty of empty seats; it was not crowded at all.
We booked 4 of the King-bed Deluxe Guest Rooms at the Cologne Marriott for our group of 7.
Inside the Cologne Cathedral.
It was free; no fees/tickets/reservations were required to look inside the cathedral.
At the Brauhaus FRÜH am Dom for traditional German brewhouse gastronomy in Cologne.
Beer was €2.40 per small glass, and the waiter kept it flowing.
Both MC and Philip had the Schweinehaxe dish,
which was grilled pork knuckle with fried potato.
(It was very dry inside, not as good as the pork knuckles I had years ago elsewhere.)
Both Austin and Elena had the veal schnitzel with French fries,
which the restaurant's menu called "Viennese Schnitzel,"
to differentiate from the pork schnitzel and chicken schnitzel.
