7/9/23, Day 7, Kyoto - Kiomizu dera, Gion etc.

Hotel Granvia Kyoto's breakfast buffet.

Plenty of both Western and Japanese dishes.

Many kinds of pickled vegetables.

On the street up to Kiyomizu dera, the temple.
This store named Okamoto, was where Ayumi recommended for everyone to rent kimonos.
(There were at least 3 kimono rentals on the same street.)

Having a cool snack while waiting for the girls to emerge from the kimono shop.

There they were!
Continued walking uphill to the Kiyomizu dera (清水寺), the Clear Water Temple.

In front of Kyoto's Yasaka Shrine (八坂神社) in Gion.
This Shinto shrine was once called Gion Shrine (祇園神社, Gion-jinja).

Japanese grapes bought from the Isetan department store's food hall.
The dark-red ones were very large and juicy.
The green ones, despite having a royal name of "麝香葡萄", were flat, not sweet at all.
Each grape bunch cost slightly more than $2900JPY, roughly USD $20.
